Job description

Sr. Project Manager (Electrical Construction)

Our client in the Boise, ID location is currently hiring for a Sr. Project Manager. This position is an onsite opportunity supporting large-scale electrical construction projects at the Micron site in Boise. This position requires extensive experience managing electrical construction projects for an electrical subcontractor, leading project management teams, overseeing project financials, and delivering high-dollar projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Pay - $150,000 - $210,000/year (Depending on years of experience, tenure, project size, estimating experience, leadership experience, software proficiency, and relevant industry experience)

Location - Boise, ID (Primarily Onsite, with flexibility for 1 remote day per week)

Schedule - Standard Monday-Friday (40+ hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Supervise multiple Project Managers responsible for managing multiple active projects.

• Manage electrical construction projects valued up to $30M+ or oversee multiple large projects simultaneously.

• Maintain full accountability for project planning, execution, cost tracking, forecasting, and project closeout.

• Make key decisions regarding project cost, schedule, staffing, and overall performance.

• Prepare and deliver monthly project status reports and percent-complete reporting.

• Monitor and control project performance through coordination with onsite foremen and field leadership.

• Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to contract requirements.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.

• Coordinate with estimating, operations, accounting, and executive leadership teams.

• Manage change orders, contract administration, budgeting, and cost control activities.

• Proactively identify project risks and develop solutions before issues impact project outcomes.

• Support business development initiatives by identifying opportunities for additional services and integrated solutions.

• Promote a strong safety culture and support an injury-free work environment.

Qualification Requirements

• 10-15+ years of experience as an Electrical Project Manager within the construction industry working for an electrical subcontractor.

• Proven experience managing high-value electrical construction projects valued at $50M+ or multiple projects valued at $10M+ simultaneously.

• Experience leading and mentoring Project Managers on large-scale projects.

• Experience with low-voltage electrical systems and projects.

• Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, earned-value management, and project financial oversight.

• Experience with contract management, bidding, estimating, takeoffs, change orders, and closeout procedures.

• Proven ability to manage projects exceeding 100,000 labor hours.

• Strong knowledge of electrical construction, heavy power distribution, instrumentation, and process control systems.

• Experience reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

• Strong leadership, client management, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

• 5+ years of experience as an Electrical Foreman or General Foreman in lieu of a degree.

• Experience managing industrial, advanced technology, semiconductor, water treatment, or pump station projects.

• Experience with Primavera P6 scheduling software.

• Experience using Procore and Bluebeam.

• Strong understanding of QA/QC procedures and project turnover processes.

• Experience performing detailed electrical estimating and takeoffs.

Disqualifiers

• No experience working for an electrical subcontractor.

• Less than 10 years of electrical construction project management experience.

• No experience managing large commercial, industrial, semiconductor, or advanced technology projects.

• No experience leading Project Managers on high-value projects.

• No low-voltage electrical project experience.

• No experience managing project budgets, forecasting, cost controls, or contract administration.

• Primarily residential electrical construction experience.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $210000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
