Bridge Inspection Lead

Lead & Grow Fishbeck's National Bridge Inspection Practice
Fishbeck is actively seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Lead to support and grow our bridge inspection practice across multiple states, including Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Texas. This senior-level role is ideal for a seasoned professional with strong technical expertise, proven client engagement skills, and experience managing inspection and scoping contracts for agencies of varying size and complexity at both the state and local levels.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with Fishbeck's Transportation teams to identify business opportunities, lead project execution, and cultivate strong relationships with key clients and industry partners, playing a vital role in the continued expansion of our nationwide inspection practice.
What You'll Work On
  • Lead and grow bridge inspection practice, including recruiting with assistance from bridge team leaders.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to technical staff.
  • Manage contracts with various clients such as DOT's, counties, locals, private, etc.
  • Assist departments with identifying and pursuing bridge inspection contracts in current and future office locations.
  • Lead pursuits, prepare proposals, and develop fees for potential projects.
  • Develop strategic alliances with peers in the industry to provide bridge inspection services.
  • Work with other departments to provide client development and cross-marketing opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development of the firm's long-term business goals, and objectives.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 15+ years of experience in bridge inspection or related roles supporting DOT or local agency projects.
  • Qualified bridge inspection program manager and team leader experience.
  • Experience with DOT bridge management software.
  • Experience performing load ratings in AASHTOWare BrR.
  • SPRAT certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of design modeling or plan production software is a plus.
  • Strong computer, written, and verbal communication skills.

Minimum Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform field work, access and maneuver around project sites, and use a computer.
  • Ability to travel to project and client sites as required.
  • Ability to use communication and documentation equipment.
  • Visual acuity necessary to perform inspection and documentation responsibilities.
