Job description

Job Title: Molding Assembly Technician

Location: Libertyville, IL

Duration: Long-term Contract

Job Summary

Support injection molding and assembly operations in a manufacturing environment. This role involves machine setup, mold installation, component assembly, process monitoring, and quality assurance to ensure efficient production and high-quality molded components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment
  • Install and remove molds, tooling, and fixtures for production runs
  • Assemble molded plastic components as per work instructions and specifications
  • Monitor molding parameters such as temperature, pressure, and cycle time
  • Perform in-process quality checks and inspections on molded parts
  • Troubleshoot minor molding defects and support process improvements
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection records
  • Follow safety protocols, SOPs, and manufacturing standards

Qualifications

  • Experience in injection molding, plastics manufacturing, or assembly operations
  • Hands-on experience with injection molding machine setup and mold handling
  • Basic understanding of molding processes and production equipment

Preferred Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings
  • Experience using measurement tools such as calipers, gauges, and micrometers
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
