Job description

We are seeking an experienced Director of Imaging to join our dynamic CVL team, and play a key part in leading imaging operations, driving clinical excellence, and supporting the continued delivery of high-quality cardiovascular care across our network.
This role will provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for cardiovascular imaging services across multiple cardiology practices.

This is a remote position with flexibility to travel up to 50% of the time. Applicants will be accepted from FL, GA, LA, TN, NY, MS, TX, PA, IL and NC.
Starting salary range is $135K to $155K annually and will be based on the candidateโ€™s qualifications and experience.

SUMMARY:

The Director of Imaging-Multi-Site Cardiology practices, provides strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for cardiovascular imaging services across multiple cardiology practices. The role ensures highโ€‘quality, compliant, and financially sustainable imaging programs by standardizing protocols, optimizing workflows, and supporting growth across all imaging modalities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a multiโ€‘site cardiovascular imaging strategy aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Identify growth opportunities (e.g., cardiac CT, PET, vascular imaging).
  • Lead capital planning including equipment selection, replacement schedules, and ROI analysis.

Clinical & Quality Oversight

  • Collaborate with Affiliate Imaging Leadership to ensure compliance with ACC and IAC standards.
  • Standardize imaging protocols across all sites (echo, nuclear, CT, MRI).
  • Monitor and drive improvement in quality metrics, including:
    • Image quality scores
    • Radiation dose management
    • Report and study turnaround times
  • Ensure ongoing adherence to evidenceโ€‘based practices and accreditation requirements.

Operational Management

  • Partner with Affiliate Imaging Leadership to optimize scheduling, throughput, and patient access.
  • Implement standardized workflows, policies, and performance expectations across sites.
  • Manage vendor relationships (OEMs, PACS/RIS/CVIS, contrast and supply partners).
  • Collaborate with Affiliate Imaging Leadership to ensure equipment uptime, preventive maintenance, service compliance, and lifecycle performance; evaluate and optimize equipment support models, service contracts, and maintenance economics across the platform.
  • Standardize service expectations, uptime metrics, preventive maintenance practices, and vendor performance management across imaging sites.

Financial Performance

  • Oversee imaging budgets, including CAPEX and OPEX.
  • Monitor and improve key financial KPIs:
    • Cost per study
    • Revenue per modality
    • Utilization rates
    • Labor productivity
    • Supplies, contrast and radiopharmaceutical costs
    • Total cost of ownership
  • Collaborate with Managed Care to improve reimbursement strategy.
  • Partner with Revenue Cycle to reduce denials, optimize documentation, and improve collections.

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with CMS, OSHA, and, as applicable, NRC regulations.
  • Maintain radiation safety and ALARA standards through structured oversight.
  • Oversee policy documentation, audit readiness, and regulatory reporting.

Technology & Informatics

  • Collaborate with IT on PACS, RIS, and CVIS integration, data integrity, and system optimization.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, including:
    • AIโ€‘assisted imaging tools
    • Advanced cardiac CT (e.g., FFRโ€‘CT)
    • Enhanced reporting and workflow platforms

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to imaging managers and supervisors across all sites.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, radiologists, technologists, and operational leadership to ensure cohesive care delivery.
  • Evaluate staffing models, productivity benchmarks, and workforce development needs.

Program Development & Growth

  • Lead expansion of advanced imaging services, including:
    • Cardiac CT/CTA
    • PET myocardial perfusion imaging
    • Imaging support for structural heart programs
  • Support service line development through data, forecasting, and market insights.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required (Healthcare Administration, Radiologic Sciences, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Masterโ€™s degree preferred (MHA, MBA).

Experience

  • 7โ€“10+ years in cardiovascular or radiology imaging.
  • 3โ€“5+ years in multiโ€‘site imaging leadership.
  • Experience with cardiologyโ€‘specific imaging (echo, nuclear, CT) strongly preferred.

Preferred Certifications

  • RDCS, RCS, CNMT, RT(R), or related credentials.
