Job Title: Laborer
Job Description

The laborer supports operations both at the branch and in the field at events by handling materials, assisting with product disposal and labeling, and operating material-handling equipment. This role focuses on safely processing and organizing various types of materials, loading and unloading trailers, and occasionally interacting with customers at weekend events to ensure materials are properly sorted and documented.

Responsibilities

  • Work at the branch to help separate and process materials according to established procedures.
  • Assist primarily in the paint department by safely dumping paint into 100-gallon tanks, including water-based, latex, oil, cement, and rubber-based paints.
  • Load and unload product from the back of semi-trucks using pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Place labels on products once they have been properly processed and disposed of.
  • Support inventory activities, including documenting materials and organizing stock.
  • Help load and unload trailers and move containers between storage and treatment areas.
  • Operate fork trucks and other mobile equipment to move containers and to load and unload trailers.
  • Optionally participate in weekend events (typically Friday through Sunday) as part of a team of 3–10 people.
  • At events, collect materials from customers and place them into the correct bins based on type and disposal requirements.
  • Load collected products into the back of semi-trucks at events.
  • Talk with and educate customers about proper material handling and disposal, and thank them for their participation and support.
  • Separate and label materials based on their characteristics and designated destination.
  • Use an iPad to take pictures of inventory received from customers and support documentation and tracking.
  • Work safely around loud alarms, warning sounds, and commercial vehicle traffic, following all safety guidelines.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with material handling in an industrial, warehouse, or general labor environment.
  • Ability to perform general labor tasks, including sorting, lifting, and organizing materials.
  • Skill in operating forklifts and fork trucks to move containers and load/unload trailers.
  • Ability to use pallet jacks for loading and unloading products from semi-trucks.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds both in the field and at the branch.
  • Comfort working in a team environment and collaborating with 3–10 team members during events.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
