Wound Outpatient Nurse (RN)

A Brief Overview
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice, accountable for the outcomes of nursing care deliveries in the outpatient Infectious Disease setting.
What you will do
  • Assist physician with all exams and procedures and treatments.
  • Assess and document patient status, vital signs, and current medications during treatment visits.
  • Prioritize and triage patients in clinics and in hospital, with some concerns are called in by phone. Report pertinent information to physician and document in patient chart and obtained physician signature.
  • Maintained chart rounds patient log.
  • Forwarded patient list and pathology reports prior to meetings to covering physician in the absence of attending physician
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to determine if additional treatments or changes in care are required
  • Witness patient consent form with physician.
  • Educate patients and caretakers on wound care, infection and injury prevention, and pressure ulcer (bed sore) care

Education Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in nursing. (ADN)
  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing. (BSN)

Experience Qualifications
  • Clinical RN experience, Preferred
  • Oncology/Infusion RN experience, Preferred

Licenses and Certifications
  • Registered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation in good standing with the South Carolina Board of Nursing (SCLLR), required. Required
  • Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two years is Required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Preferred
