Overview

VTG is seeking a Supply Chain SME - Flight Test Engineer in McLean, VA


What will you do?
 
The Supply Chain SME provides senior-level expertise in the planning, design, integration, and deployment of complex technical systems. This role combines engineering knowledge, advanced systems integration experience, and full lifecycle project management to deliver reliable technical solutions in mission-critical environments. The SME leads the development and execution of technical implementation strategies, ensures interoperability across systems and platforms, and supports successful program delivery through strong vendor management and cross-functional coordination. Up to 25% CONUS and OCONUS travel.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage projects through the full project management lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, risk management, and closeout.
  • Develop project schedules, resource plans, milestones, and performance metrics to ensure successful delivery.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Track progress, manage risks and issues, and provide status reporting to leadership.
  • Plan and execute technical system rollouts, including deployment strategies, configuration, testing, and operational transition.
  • Oversee installation, integration, and operational readiness of complex systems in operational environments.
  • Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards during deployment.
  • Systems Integration
  • Lead integration of multiple technical systems, platforms, and components to ensure interoperability and operational performance.
  • Design and implement advanced technical systems integration solutions across hardware, software, and communications systems.
  • Develop integration strategies that support scalable and secure system architectures.
  • Evaluate technologies, architectures, and implementation approaches to recommend optimal solutions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on system design, integration methodologies, and emerging technologies.
  • Develop and manage technical requirements for vendors and suppliers.
  • Evaluate vendor solutions, support procurement activities, and oversee vendor performance.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure successful delivery, integration, and testing of system components.
  • Support integration and interoperability with defense, security, or mission-critical equipment and platforms.

Required Qualifications:
  • TS Clearance with polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Systems, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, or related field).
  • Demonstrated experience managing technical projects through the full project management lifecycle.
  • Extensive experience with complex systems integration and deployment.
  • Experience integrating military-grade or mission-critical equipment and technologies.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering, system architecture, and integration methodologies.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement technical solutions to complex operational challenges.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and defining technical requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $190,000-$230,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
