Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Expeditor. In the Houston district office, the Expeditor supports Kiewit and projects by expediting supplier's deliverables. The Supplier Expeditor's primary responsibility is to perform desk expediting tasks in order to ensure purchased materials and engineered equipment meet project need-by dates and schedules per the Contract. The expeditor will actively monitor the status of the orders and report delay early to project management to initiate mitigating actions. This also includes document expediting.

Kiewit Supply Network group specializes in providing comprehensive procurement services to clients across the construction and engineering industries in multiple markets, including transportation; water/wastewater; power; oil, gas and chemical; building; and mining. Our key objectives are to offer clients a world-class service focused on ensuring equipment, materials and services are consistently estimated and procured at the right price. We strive to offer an appropriate level of quality and ensure materials and services are delivered on schedule and in compliance with the client's specifications and expectations.
Location
This position will be in Houston, TX at our district office.
Responsibilities
  • Contacts supplier frequently to obtain timely submission of engineering data
  • Coordinate timely responds of inhouse engineering
  • To monitor supplier progress to ensure materials and equipment purchased is delivered on time
  • Proactive surveillance of supplier progress
  • Read and understand fabrication schedules
  • To take the appropriate action with the supplier in the event of delays
  • Communicate and coordinate closely with the Project to ensure the most cost-effective use of time
  • To act as the project's representative at the suppliers' shop for expediting purposes
  • To produce accurate records on physical progress at suppliers' shop
  • To monitor the performance of the supplier's sub-suppliers and advise on the need to assist the supplier to expedite primary sub-supplier or those providing components
  • Represents Expediting in project meetings
  • Keeps expected dates up-to-date in the expediting system
  • Participate in kick-off and progress meetings
  • Coordinate with the responsible engineering, buyers, inspectors, logistics and material control

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management
  • 5+ years' experience working for an EPC company, in the Oil, Gas and Chemical market in contracts administration/management.
  • General understanding of all areas of procurement is desirable, including procurement execution, estimating, expediting, and site purchasing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Excel) and general knowledge of database utilization
  • SAP Experience a plus. InEight Software experience (or similar) highly desired
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative with strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships.
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
  • Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt.
