Job Title: Expeditor II Location: Omaha, NE 68114 Type: 6-month contract, extension or conversion to permanent possible Compensation: $30.00 - $36.00/hr Work Model: 100% onsite Hours: Mon - Fri 7:00am to 4:00pm or 7:30am to 4:30pm or 8:00am to 5:00pm Overview System One is seeking an Expeditor to be responsible for driving and tracking all pre-delivery document submittals in accordance with the contract and project schedule. Drive improvement in Suppliers on-time delivery performance by prioritizing outstanding supplier documents. This includes expediting new, missing or returned documents from the supplier and/or Engineering. Conduct weekly analysis on supplier documentation performance to improve on poorly performing suppliers. Participate in weekly Engineering call to provide updates and status of document submittals. Participate in weekly Project Expediting meeting to ensure submittals are received for Engineer review and returned to vendor per the schedule. This role requires an individual with good communication, problem solving skills and must use your own initiative to source and close document submittal issues. Identify and escalate ongoing supplier documentation issues to the Project Expeditor and/or the Expediting Manager. The Expeditor II role emphasizes a proactive, systematic & standardized approach which aggressively pursues all available courses of action to detect and avert delays to the contractual delivery date stated within the contract. Provide detailed updates to all stakeholders on the status of supplier document submittals. To provide effective document expediting support and co-ordination for the Engineering and Construction Teams. Dependent upon project requirements other tools or systems may be used to support Expediting efforts. Additional responsibilities will include meeting agenda preparation, publishing meeting minutes and misc. expediting functions as required to support the project.   • Drive and track all pre-delivery document submittals in accordance with the contract and project schedule.
  • Prioritize outstanding supplier documents to improve on-time delivery performance.
  • Expedite new, missing, or returned documents from suppliers and Engineering.
  • Conduct weekly analysis on supplier documentation performance to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Participate in weekly Engineering calls to provide updates on document status.
  • Attend weekly Project Expediting meetings to ensure timely submittals for review and vendor return.
  • Use good communication, problem solving skills, and initiative to source and resolve document submittal issues.
  • Identify and escalate ongoing supplier documentation issues to the Project Expeditor and/or Expediting Manager.
  • Support a proactive, systematic, and standardized approach to detecting and preventing delays.
  • Provide detailed updates to stakeholders on supplier document submittals.
  • Assist in document expediting for Engineering and Construction Teams, using various tools or systems as needed.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, publish minutes, and perform miscellaneous expediting functions to support the project.
  • Perform expediting activities to ensure on-time delivery of equipment, materials, and documentation.
  • Embed in fabrication facilities or job sites as required.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time for home office positions.
Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Windows, Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills to work with only general policies or procedures available

  • Ability to recognize timelines and deadlines to prioritize work
