Job description

Assists in analyzing and preparing the negotiation and administration of contracts or subcontracts. Researches and reviews specifications and needed documentation in order process requests.

  • Responds timely to request for proposals (RFP) from government and prime contractors.
  • Prepares or acquires all required forms (reps & certs, executive comp, COI, W9) and correspondence.
  • Reviews solicitations and statements of work for contractual risks or areas of concern, negotiates all terms and conditions for the resulting contracts while identifying and mitigating contract risk.
  • Responsive to business development requests; assists with negotiating contractual language in Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and Teaming Agreements.
  • Reviews performance requirements ensuring contract is in accordance with legal requirements and customer specifications.
  • Initiates internal documentation to authorize and direct work in accordance with contractual specifications.
  • Assists in creation of Statement of Work (SOW) terms and conditions, gains approvals from various internal customers.
  • Monitors company performance on routine contractual obligations.
  • Reads, analyzes, and interprets technical data into everyday language.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree is desired in Contracts Management, Business, or Finance although a liberal arts degree in any discipline is acceptable or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 1-2 years of work experience; experience in contracts management a plus.

Other Job Specific Skills

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to include strong editing and writing skills for subcontract formation.
  • Ability to write subcontracts to other contractors against ASM prime contracts; must have a basic understanding of government contract sections to include schedules, performance work statements, and invoicing and payment.
  • Strong negotiation skills with subcontractors to ensure ASM interests are protected.
  • Knowledge of FAR and DFAR clause interpretation and research.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple, concurrent activities with short turn-around times with multiple internal and external customers.
  • Proficient with Excel, Word, Adobe.
  • Enjoy working in a team environment as well as independently with limited supervision.
  • Small Business reporting knowledge a plus.
  • Knowledge of federal and commercial contracts preferred.

Compensation ranges for ASM Research positions vary depending on multiple factors; including but not limited to, location, skill set, level of education, certifications, client requirements, contract-specific affordability, government clearance and investigation level, and years of experience. The compensation displayed for this role is a general guideline based on these factors and is unique to each role. Monetary compensation is one component of ASM's overall compensation and benefits package for employees.
