Responsibilities / tasks 

  • The Site Contract Coordinator will be responsible for the oversight and contract management for all contracts executed with work to be performed at the Project Site;
  • Support the coordination of contractor mobilization, workforce ramp up, equipment training, certification and signoff, etc.; 
  • Support the development of contractor process and protocols during the mobilization process; 
  • Ensure the Contractor executes the work in accordance with the terms of the Contract; 
  • Support Project Office Contract Coordinator with Change Management i.e. Field Work Instructions, Contract Change Orders & the pre and post Change Order work; 
  • Monitor and support the tracking of cost and schedule progress in conjunction with Project Controls team; 
  • Support the forecasting, planning, and management of contractual services, such as labor and ramp up, according to targets and direction from the project team; 
  • Maintain tracking logs for deliveries, mobilization, claims, warranty, issues and changes; 
  • File and archive all contractual documentation, maintaining progress meeting minutes; 
  • Maintain relevant information to refute potential claims; 
  • Assist close out of purchase order in SAP and archive final documentation; 
  • Support the Contracts Owner in assessing the performance of the Contractor, through the use of key performance indicators and audits; 
  • Ensure the mobilization and utilization of contracted services with the SEM-Hatch and Vale norms, procedures, and policies; 

Qualifications 

  • Post Secondary education in Business Management, Law or Engineering preferred.  
  • Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) is considered an asset.  
  • A minimum of 5 yearsโ€™ experience in contracts management, preferably in a project environment on industrial or mining projects.  
  • Proven experience with entire contract administration cycle of contracts in excess of $1M million; understanding of key controls and processes. 
  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite and SAP. 
  • Ability to multitask, change priorities, solve problems, and resolve conflicts.
