Job description

Job Description – Principal Embedded Platform Architect

Experience: 12–18 years
Employment Type: Full-time
Team Model: Single onsite technical lead coordinating a specialist offshore team

Role Summary:

  • The architect will serve as the single onsite technical point of contact between the customer and the LTTS offshore engineering team. The role requires strong expertise in QNX, Embedded Linux, Android/Android Automotive, Qualcomm platforms, embedded architecture, system integration, and technical program coordination.
  • The architect will understand customer requirements, define solution approaches, drive architecture decisions, coordinate offshore specialists, review technical deliverables, manage cross-workstream dependencies, and ensure that LTTS commitments are delivered with the expected quality and timelines.

Mandatory Skills:

  • 12+ years of embedded software development and platform architecture experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience in C and C++.
  • Strong architecture and development experience across QNX, Embedded Linux, and Android.
  • Experience with Android platform, middleware, framework, native services, HAL, NDK, JNI, AIDL, APEX, and Project Treble.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and QNX internals, including processes, threads, IPC, scheduling, memory, storage, networking, and system services.
  • Experience with embedded platform services, middleware, device interfaces, hardware abstraction, and cross-platform libraries.
  • Experience with Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms, preferably automotive or similarly complex embedded platforms.
  • Understanding of QNX Hypervisor, virtualization, and multi-OS platform architectures.
  • Experience in system performance analysis, benchmarking, profiling, instrumentation, and optimization.
  • Understanding of embedded-device observability, telemetry, health monitoring, diagnostics, logging, and remote debugging.
  • Working knowledge of embedded platform security, secure boot, keys, certificates, signing, TPM/TEE, secure updates, and network security.
  • Understanding of on-device AI architecture, model deployment, edge-AI constraints, and Qualcomm AI capabilities.
  • Experience in Linux-to-Android service migration and platform modernization.
  • Strong troubleshooting capability across application, middleware, operating system, driver, hardware, and network layers.
  • Proven experience leading customer-facing architecture discussions and distributed engineering teams.
  • Excellent technical communication, presentation, documentation, stakeholder-management, and decision-making skills.

Secondary/Preferred Skills 

  • Qualcomm AI Engine and QNN SDK experience.
  • Automotive IVI, ADAS, IFE, airline, transportation, or connected-device domain experience.
  • Multimedia platform experience covering audio, video, Bluetooth, and network audio.
  • Android CTS/VTS experience.
  • Device communication experience involving SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, USB, CAN, Ethernet, or TCP/IP.
  • Knowledge of Linux Device Driver development, bootloaders, secure boot, and power management.
  • Experience with GDB, QNX Momentics, ADB, Logcat, Perfetto, Valgrind, and other profiling or diagnostic tools.
  • Exposure to SAST, DAST, security analysis, static analysis, and code-quality tools.
  • Experience with Git, GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and virtualized development environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, Jira, Confluence, and requirements-management tools.
  • Experience developing technical PoCs and transitioning validated concepts into production development.
