What You Will Do
  • The role of a Production Software Engineer is to conceive and implement software improvements and reliability projects for our production equipment as well as provide technical day-to-day support for existing software. This position works with internal customers, trades, and shared services staff in providing technical assistance and expertise in maintaining existing equipment and helping define and implement future production equipment.
  • Research, architect, build, test and commission software for production equipment.
  • Develop software specifications based on internal product engineering requirements.
  • Develop NI LabView software and support legacy test software (C++).
  • Develop technical documentation to support all software implementations.
  • Ensure proper functioning of equipment through ongoing software support and maintenance.
  • Lead and/or participate in software code reviews.
  • Read and interpret equipment and wiring schematics.
  • Gather and review data concerning equipment specifications, and company or customer requirements as required.
  • Understand customer specifications to confirm operations according to necessary regulations to ensure production quality.
  • Provides operators and technician training to ensure proper equipment use.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Experience with LabView object-oriented software development
  • Experience with C/C++, Python
  • Must be U.S. Citizen

Qualifications We Prefer
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, 3 years of general software and 1 year of LabView development experience OR a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and minimum 7 years of LabView experience.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
