Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-oriented Offshore Compressor Mechanic to join our operations team. The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on a variety of oilfield equipment, with a specialized focus on Caterpillar 3500 & 3600 / Ariel Frames. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, and a dedication to safety.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct planned and unplanned maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Caterpillar 3500 & 3600 / Ariel Frames and other associated equipment in the field.
  • Maintain compressors, engines, triplex and centrifugal pumps (pneumatic, gas/diesel or electric)
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on turbine engines as needed.
  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical malfunctions in equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and service natural gas and diesel engines, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble pumps, including replacing seals, bearings, and other components as necessary.
  • Conduct major mechanical overhauls independently.
  • Operate and test repaired equipment to verify the effectiveness of the repairs and ensure it meets operational standards.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and work performed.
  • Adhere to all company and industry safety protocols and environmental regulations, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Operate a variety of hand, power, and diagnostic tools effectively and safely.
  • Provide clear and professional communication with team members, supervisors, and customers regarding equipment status and repair timelines.


Qualifications

  • Experience:Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a field or heavy-duty mechanic in the oil and gas industry.
  • Work Environment:
    • Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including outdoor conditions with varying weather.
    • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds regularly and perform tasks involving bending, kneeling, and climbing.
