What is a contract designer?

Contract Designers are professionals who provide design services to clients on a temporary or project-by-project basis, rather than as full-time employees. They may work in various fields such as graphic design, interior design, or industrial design and are typically hired to complete specific assignments within a set timeframe. Contract Designers often work independently or through agencies, allowing companies flexibility and specialized expertise without a long-term commitment.

How does a contract designer typically collaborate with clients and internal teams during a project?

As a Contract Designer, you will frequently work closely with both clients and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements, present concepts, and refine designs based on feedback. Communication is key, as you'll often participate in meetings, share progress updates, and coordinate with project managers, engineers, or marketers to ensure deliverables align with client expectations and brand guidelines. Effective collaboration helps ensure that projects are completed on time and that the final designs meet both aesthetic and functional needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a contract designer, and why are they important?

To excel as a Contract Designer, you need expertise in contract law, drafting, and negotiation, usually supported by a degree in law, business, or a related field. Familiarity with contract management software (such as DocuSign, ContractWorks, or Adobe Sign) and relevant certifications like Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) are highly valuable. Attention to detail, strong communication, and problem-solving abilities help ensure clarity and compliance in contract terms. These skills are crucial for mitigating risks, protecting organizational interests, and fostering successful business partnerships.

Job description

ScrollTab is a forward-thinking digital solutions firm dedicated to bridging the gap between complex software engineering and seamless human interaction. Based in the growing tech hub of Irving, TX, we specialize in high-performance web applications, digital marketing strategies, and talent acquisition. We believe that a digital product is only as strong as its usability, and we are currently seeking a creative, technically-proficient UX/UI Designer to join our team on a contractual basis.

As a designer at ScrollTab, you will be more than a visual artist; you will be an architect of digital experiences. You will work at the intersection of branding, user psychology, and modern front-end frameworks like Angular to build interfaces that are fast, accessible, and visually captivating.

Job Overview: UX/UI Designer
  • Company Name โ€“ ScrollTab
  • Job Title โ€“ UX/UI Designer
  • Location โ€“ Irving, TX (On-site / Hybrid Opportunities)
  • Job Type โ€“ Contractual
  • Experience Level โ€“ 3-4 Years
  • Salary / Pay Rate โ€“ $80,000 - $85,000 (Annual Equivalent) or $40 - $55/hr
  • Technical Focus โ€“ Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Angular
  • Primary Industry โ€“ IT Consulting & Digital Marketing
The Role: Elevating the Digital Journey

At ScrollTab, our mission is to deliver digital excellence through precision and creativity. We donโ€™t just build websites; we create ecosystems where users can achieve their goals with zero friction. As our UX/UI Designer, you will be responsible for the "look, feel, and flow" of our most critical projects.

This role requires a unique individual who can think like a user but execute like an engineer. You will be tasked with taking complex business requirements and condensing them into intuitive layouts that work flawlessly across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices. Whether it is a high-conversion landing page or a data-heavy enterprise dashboard, your designs will set the standard for quality.

Key Responsibilities 1. End-to-End Visual & Interaction Design

You will lead the design and development of responsive website layouts and digital assets. This includes:

  • Discovery: Working with stakeholders to define user personas and project goals.

  • Wireframing & Prototyping: Utilizing Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch to build interactive blueprints that allow for rapid testing and iteration.

  • High-Fidelity UI: Delivering pixel-perfect final designs that incorporate modern aesthetics and consistent branding.

2. Cross-Functional Synergy

A great design is only successful if it can be built and understood. You will collaborate daily with:

  • Developers: To ensure technical feasibility, especially within the Angular framework.

  • Content Writers: To create a visual hierarchy that highlights the most important messaging.

  • Marketing Teams: To implement design concepts that align with SEO goals and drive higher click-through rates (CTR).

3. Brand Guardianship & Systems Thinking

Consistency builds trust. You will ensure that every digital touchpointโ€”from social media assets to internal software toolsโ€”adheres to established branding guidelines. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining a Design System (component libraries, style guides, and typography sets) that ensures efficiency and unity across all projects.

4. Optimization & Data-Driven Iteration

We believe in constant improvement. You will optimize websites for maximum speed, responsiveness, and usability. By conducting usability tests and analyzing performance metrics, you will identify areas for improvement and iterate on your designs based on actual user feedback and analytics.

Candidate Qualifications & Skills

ScrollTab is looking for a mid-level professional with 3 to 4 years of experience who is ready to hit the ground running.

Required Technical Skills
  • Design Tools: Mastery of Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop and Illustrator).

  • Framework Familiarity: A solid understanding of Angular is highly preferred, as our development team relies on it for building dynamic user interfaces.

  • Web Standards: Deep knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 principles to facilitate seamless handoffs to the engineering team.

  • UX Foundations: Expert-level understanding of information architecture, responsive design, and user-centered design principles.

Professional Attributes
  • Aesthetic Excellence: A strong portfolio that showcases your ability to blend functionality with "industry-standard" modern design.

  • Communication: The ability to explain complex design decisions to non-technical team members and clients.

  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously while meeting strict contractual deadlines.

  • Attention to Detail: A commitment to "pixel-perfection" in every asset delivered.
