Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems sector is seeking a Design Engineer / Principal Design Engineer to join the Sentinel program in Roy, UT. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You'll Get to Do:
The selected candidate will become a Design Engineer on the Infrastructure Design Team (INF). This role supports the design, modeling, and integration efforts for Civil-Structural elements of Sentinel Launch Facilities, Launch Centers, and/or Test Facilities.
Team members work in close collaboration with suppliers and contractors, reviewing design builds & packages, assessing civil capacity, and managing contract design parameters.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either the Design Engineer level or Principal Design Engineer level.
  • Design Engineer: Bachelor's degree with 2 years' experience; 0 years' experience with a Master's degree. - an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Principal Design Engineer: Bachelors degree with 5 years' experience; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD

Required for both levels:
  • Must have U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Programs (SAP) clearance as a condition of continued employment.
  • Knowledge of construction materials and construction details and techniques.
  • Thorough understanding of construction codes & standards such as: ASCE, CSI Dynamic Standards, and Engineering Change Proposal nomenclature relevant to the industry.
  • Experience with Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, Power Point, and Engineering Scheduling tools and applications, and be able to use the Internet as an information gathering and communications tool.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts to both Government and corporate leadership

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:
  • Proficiency with Revit BIM, Siemens NX and Teamcenter
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance with the most recent investigation completed in the last 5 years.

Primary Level Salary Range: $72,100.00 - $108,100.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
