Job description
Summary:
Under supervision, be responsible for providing test lab technician services for internal and external customers in a capable, organized, timely, and safe manner. Responsibilities include modification of lab test stands and implemented design changes. The Candidate will be responsible for the safe setup, conducting of tests, completeion of test reports and test data sheets. Candidate will assist in the troubleshooting of test setups, products, and systems. Good communication and coordination skills are required in order to work with multiple customers and schedule lab equipment efficiently. The individual must possess the knowledge and experience necessary to work with potentially dangerous equipment in a safe manner in order to insure no injury to self and others. Applicant will be able to work with high voltage high and current equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Test Setup:
A. Test Setup:
Includes the capability to understand the intent of test requests and test procedures submitted by the customer or cognizant Engineer. The ability to ask the right questions of the customer and resolves any conflicts with the request and the capability of the lab. To be able to provide test setup expertise to the customer which will meet the intent of the test request / procedure / specification submitted by the customer.
B. Conducting Tests:
Includes the capability of conducting a test which:
Takes into account any safety issues and requirements.
Verifies the capability of the DUT to the requirements submitted by the customer.
Collects the data required to properly document the test results.
C. Documenting Test Results:
The ability to prepare an effective report which documents the test setup, the running of the test, any changes or conflicts with the information provided by the customer, the data required to demonstrate DUT performance, and any summary / conclusions / notes of substance which could have an impact when analyzing the results of the test.
Analytical Problem Solving: Executes logical and analytical approaches to solving problems encountered in test activities.
Computer Applications: the ability to use appropriate computer applications to facilitate testing, documentation, and project management methods. Applicant shall be able to use Microsoft Office as required.

Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
HS Degree or GED plus two years of electrical maintenance experience OR Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology (or related field).
Ability to use electrical and measurement devices (DMM, Power Supplies, Hi-Pot tester, Oscilloscope).
Ability to read and understand MIL Specs and International Standards (AS, DO-160).
Basic Knowledge in Electricity (Generators, AC, DC, Resistances, Inductances).
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and ability to create Electrical Drawings (AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical).
Soldering skills (IPC Certification).
Mechanical aptitude and machine shop skills
Physical Demands:
Sitting 40% / Standing 40% / Walking & lifting 20% (up to 25 lbs and then with a partner or lift equipment)
Work Environment:
Equal split between office work and working in an electrically safe laboratory environment.
