The Opportunity:

Legacy Professional Services is seeking a Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of hyperscale data center construction projects from preconstruction through commissioning and project closeout.

Working alongside Project Managers, Construction Managers, Superintendents, QA/QC Managers, subcontractors, and client representatives, you'll help coordinate project activities, field operations, scheduling, procurement, documentation, and technical execution. Depending on project assignment, you'll support Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), Connectivity, Quality Control, and Commissioning teams to help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and client expectations.

This position is ideal for an organized, technically minded construction professional who enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, solving complex problems, and building a career supporting the successful delivery of mission-critical projects.

What You'll Do:

  • Support Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project coordination and field operations.
  • Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and contract documents for accuracy and constructability.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders to support schedule, quality, and project milestones. What You'll Do:
  • Support Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Superintendents with day-to-day project coordination and field operations.
  • Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and contract documents for accuracy, constructability, and project compliance.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders to support schedule milestones, procurement activities, and field execution.
  • Assist with project scheduling, look-ahead planning, material tracking, and equipment procurement.
  • Support MEP, Connectivity, and QA/QC teams by coordinating inspections, documentation, testing activities, and project deliverables.
  • Prepare and maintain RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, change documentation, and project records.
  • Track project progress, manpower, equipment deliveries, field activities, and turnover requirements.
  • Utilize Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360), Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office to support project execution and reporting.
  • Assist with commissioning activities, project closeout, punch lists, turnover documentation, and owner handover.
  • Support multiple technical disciplines throughout the project lifecycle based on project assignment and client requirements.

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Three or more years of experience supporting commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or large-scale construction projects.
  • Understanding of construction documents, scheduling, procurement, project controls, and field operations.
  • Experience coordinating RFIs, submittals, project documentation, and construction activities.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360), Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting hyperscale data center or other mission-critical construction projects.
  • Experience supporting MEP systems, Quality Control (QA/QC), Connectivity, or Commissioning activities.
  • Familiarity with construction quality management, system testing, commissioning, and project turnover.
  • Experience working with large general contractors, EPC organizations, or mission-critical project teams.

Preferred Certifications:

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
  • PMP® or CAPM® certification.
  • Discipline-specific certifications related to MEP, Quality Control, or Connectivity are a plus.
