Job description

Airswift has been tasked by one of our major clients to find a Energy & Utilities Laboratory Technician to work for initially One-Year contract in Theodore, Alabama.
Work Schedule: 5/40 - 12h/day (5am to 5pm)
Job Type: W2 contract (One Year with possibility for extension)
Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, 3% matching 401k
Requirements

  • Analyse and document routine samples from production and on-site customers
  • Interpret and evaluate results before reporting to production
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration on laboratory instrumentation, including inline and portable/hand-held instruments
  • Validate instruments by use of references and standards
  • Data entry into spreadsheet and SAP system
  • Review and follow written SOPs while assisting in maintaining all ISO documentation. Help ensure training procedures are up-to-date
  • Maintain dry storeroom (supplies)
  • Maintain clean and safe work area. Participate in 5S programs and other continuous improvement initiatives
  • Safety - Attend safety meetings, comply with site EHSSQ goals and regulations.
  • Hours - Twelve-hour rotating day shifts with built in PTO coverage for other shift technicians
  • Training - Assist in OJT for new technicians
  • Maintain DMRQ certification
  • Coordinate, set-up, and perform whole effluent toxicity (WET) testing on vertebrate and invertebrate species as required.
  • This position will interface with production and engineering teams. Applicants will be required to communicate analytical results.
  • This position requires frequent use of a company watercraft to collect samples. This requires the candidate to obtain and maintain watercraft certification and demonstrate safe operation and maintenance of watercraft and associated analytical instruments
