Epitec is seeking a Controls Engineer to support highly automated manufacturing operations in the Detroit area. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced automation professional to work with advanced production equipment, Siemens PLCs, robotics, and industrial control systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Details
  • Location: Detroit, MI
  • Shift: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM (Weekend support is required on 2nd or 3rd shift)
  • Long-Term W2 Contract
  • Pay: $57+ per hour
  • Medical Benefits & PTO Included
  • Fully Onsite
Responsibilities
  • Support and troubleshoot Siemens PLC-based production systems
  • Program and maintain PLC, CNC, and HMI controls
  • Support automated manufacturing equipment and industrial robotics
  • Troubleshoot controls, electrical, and automation issues on the production floor
  • Configure sensors, actuators, and industrial communication networks
  • Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide technical support during equipment failures and downtime events
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of Controls Engineering or Industrial Automation experience
  • Strong experience with Siemens PLC programming and troubleshooting
  • Experience with HMI systems, CNC controls, and automated manufacturing equipment
  • Knowledge of Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, or similar industrial communication protocols
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Experience with KUKA robots is preferred
  • Manufacturing and/or automotive industry experience is highly desired
