Job description

Registered Nurse - GI Lab

Immediate need for a talented Registered Nurse - GI Lab. This is a 03+ Months Contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Atlanta, Georgia (Onsite). Please review the job description below and contact me ASAP if you are interested.

Job ID:26-13949 Pay Range: $47 - $52/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide pre-procedural assessment, preparation, and education for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures
  • Assist physicians during procedures including colonoscopies, EGDs, ERCPs, EUS, and bronchoscopies
  • Administer moderate sedation and monitor patients during procedures under physician direction
  • Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythm, oxygen saturation, and level of consciousness throughout procedures
  • Provide post-procedural care and monitoring until appropriate discharge criteria are met
  • Manage patient airways and respond to complications or emergency situations
  • Document all care accurately in the EMR
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and inventory specific to the GI Lab
  • Participate in on-call rotation as required (weekends and weeknights)
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient patient throughput.
  • Shift: 8-hour Day Shift (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
  • Duration: 13 weeks (05/18/2026 – 08/15/2026)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Overtime: Daily OT after 24 hours (based on multiplier); Weekly OT after 40 hours (based on multiplier)
  • On-Call: Yes (must be able to return to the hospital within one hour of being called)
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience within GI Lab / Endoscopy specialty
  • Active RN license in the State of Georgia or valid eNLC compact multi-state license
  • AHA BLS certification
  • AHA ACLS certification
  • Experience supporting endoscopic procedures including colonoscopies, EGDs, ERCPs, EUS, and bronchoscopies
  • Ability to return to the hospital within one hour of being called for on-call shifts
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Licensure/Certification:-Active RN license in the State of Georgia or valid eNLC compact multi-state license – required
  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) – required
  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – required
  • Moderate sedation competency – required
  • Experience:-Minimum 2 years of recent experience within GI Lab / Endoscopy specialty – required
  • Experience with colonoscopies, EGDs, ERCPs, EUS, and bronchoscopies
  • Experience with moderate sedation administration and monitoring
  • Skills:-Strong knowledge of endoscopic procedures and periprocedural nursing care
  • Proficiency in moderate sedation and airway management
  • Excellent patient assessment and critical thinking abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced procedural environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
