PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY TO
Building Principal and Athletics and Activities Director
JOB SUMMARY
To motivate and develop each athlete's skills, attitudes, and habits that promote success, personal growth, and strong character. This role provides leadership by modeling fair play, teamwork, and respect, while inspiring athletes to excel. As an unpaid position, it supports the Head Coach in developing student-athletes both athletically and academically, fostering sportsmanship and a positive school culture.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Working with Student Athletes
  • Attend tryouts, practice meetings,and in-school events
  • Help supervise student-athletes during practices, competitions, and team events
  • Support approved fundraising activities in accordance with district policies
    • Coach individual participants of varying abilities in the skills necessary
    • Track student performance throughout the season and develop stat sheets on players
  • Promote academic success, good sportsmanship, and personal development
    • Ensure the safety of the students and maintain responsibility for the security of equipment and facilities and ensure that safety equipment is used correctly
    • Comply with federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board policy pertaining to medical procedures and student athletes, including the district's concussion policy
  • Model positive behavior, maintain a supportive environment, and remain professional, even when tension is high
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with students, parents, staff, and community members
    • Maintain high standards of conduct for student athletes, including respect and fair play
    • Abide by the rules of the Idaho High School Activities Association Handbook

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
By contract as determined by the Board of Trustees in accordance with federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board policy.
NOTE
