Job Title: Engineering Assistant
Shift: Day Shift
Pay: $25 -$32/hr  (depending on experience)
Position Type: Contract-to-Hire

Overview:
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Engineering Assistant to join our team. This entry-level position is ideal for candidates with some CAD or drafting experience who are eager to learn and grow in the engineering field. The Engineering Assistant will work directly with our current engineers and gain hands-on experience in CAD/CAM, data management, and job preparation. This role is perfect for someone recently out of high school or college looking to get started in their career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain workspace and proper computer maintenance

  • Process and color prints; develop accurate Bills of Materials (BOM)

  • Manage and maintain job data files

  • Work with CAD data, prints, and minor design tasks

  • Prepare and log data for waterjet and CNC processes

  • Process quote requests and data accurately

  • Read and interpret blueprints and CAD dimensions accurately

  • Re-engineer or finish CAD designs as needed

  • Process customer changes to prints or computer data

  • Communicate effectively with customers

  • Identify special tooling requirements

  • Support engineers with miscellaneous tasks as needed

Preferred Skills / Experience:

  • Some experience with CAD software, MasterCam, or SolidWorks

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Knowledge of CNC machine processes is a plus
