CNC Machine Operator

Job Description

This role involves operating CNC machinery to produce high-quality parts from the production line, starting at 5:00 AM. You will set up, run, and monitor CNC equipment, perform inspections, and ensure parts meet blueprint specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines to produce parts according to production requirements and engineering blueprints.
• Set up machines, tools, and fixtures as needed to run assigned jobs efficiently and safely.
• Monitor machine operations throughout the shift and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
• Inspect parts using calipers and other hand tools to verify dimensions and tolerances meet specifications.
• Interpret and follow blueprints, work instructions, and job travelers to ensure accurate part production.
• Perform basic troubleshooting on CNC machines and related equipment to resolve issues and minimize downtime.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of tools and materials.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating machinery and working on the production floor.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status, issues, and improvement opportunities.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience operating CNC machines in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Hands-on experience with machine operation and machine operating tasks, including setup and basic adjustments.
• Proficiency using inspection tools such as calipers and other measuring instruments.
• Ability to perform visual and dimensional inspection of parts to ensure quality standards.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for CNC equipment and related production machinery.
• Comfort using hand tools safely and effectively in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when following specifications and measurements.
• Ability to work reliably with a 5:00 AM start time and maintain consistent attendance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience operating press brake equipment in addition to CNC machinery.
• Familiarity with general production processes and workflows in a manufacturing environment.
• Capability to follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new equipment and processes.

This is a Contract position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
