The Position:

Contracts Director

The Contracts Director role at Adams Communication & Engineering Technology, Inc. is a principal leadership position overseeing contract management for National Security and government accounts, requiring 5+ years of experience, TS/SCI clearance, and expertise in FAR/DFARS compliance.

Role Overview:

The Contracts Director leads a contracting organization, primarily supporting the firm’s work with various government agencies, including the intelligence community. The role focuses on the full contract lifecycle, from opportunity capture to closeout, with an emphasis on compliance, risk management, and business optimization

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Strategy: Lead and develop a contracting team, aligning capabilities with business objectives and client needs.
  • Contract Lifecycle Management: Oversee opportunities, proposals, negotiations, execution, and closeout, ensuring compliance with federal regulations (FAR, DFARS) and corporate policies.
  • Risk & Compliance: Apply enterprise risk management solutions, mitigate organizational conflict of interest (OCI) issues, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Client Advisory: Provide expert advice to senior leadership, program managers, and contracting officers on contractual and procurement matters.
  • Business Optimization: Drive initiatives such as data rights management and process improvements to enhance operational performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with legal, program, and client teams to support complex programmatic matters

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years in contracts management, including leading large, geographically dispersed contracting organizations.
  • Government Contracting: Experience with multiple government agencies, FAR Part 15 and Part 12 contracting, and intelligence community work.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements for proposal preparation, contract negotiation, and U.S. government procurement.
  • Clearance: TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills; ability to sell and buy IT products (software, SaaS, cloud)

Work Environment

  • Location: Havelock, NC.
  • Clearance: Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
  • Compensation: $132,000K – $140,000K annually
