Engineer III – Civil
📍 Location: Chesapeake, VA (Onsite – 5 Days/Week)
💼 Job Type: Contract (Long-Term, 24+ Months)
💲 Pay Rate: $52 - $57/hr on W2 (Based on Experience)
 

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer III to join a long-term infrastructure project in Chesapeake, VA. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineering professional to lead complex civil engineering projects from initial design through construction completion while working alongside multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead engineering design reviews for multiple concurrent civil engineering projects.
  • Manage permitting activities from initiation through approval, including coordination with local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Review Requests for Information (RFIs), technical submittals, and engineering documentation.
  • Provide engineering oversight during construction to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes and implement best practices.
  • Ensure project schedules, quality standards, and permitting deadlines are achieved.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members when needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5+ years of civil engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of engineering design review processes and project execution.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies and permitting requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required.
  • Experience supporting construction activities and field engineering.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal permitting processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering deliverables.
Work Environment
  • Onsite position located in Chesapeake, VA.
  • Candidates should be available to work onsite five days per week.
  • Local candidates are preferred; relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.
  • Overtime may be required based on project schedules (typically 40–50 hours per week).
