Job description

Job Title: Relief DVM - Wellness Visits Only Job ID: 88883 Location: St John, Indiana Overview: We are seeking an experienced Relief Veterinarian to support a busy, community-focused small-animal general practice in St. John, Indiana (Northwest Indiana). This is a wellness-only engagement - no emergency or surgical caseload. Available Dates
  • August: 15, 16, 27, 28
  • September: 3, 4, 5, 6
Hours
  • 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
This practice is deeply rooted in its community, with an active focus on outreach and improving the lives of pets and their families throughout Northwest Indiana. The team is passionate, mission-driven, and committed to delivering excellent care. The clinic partners with local rescue organizations and operates out of a well-equipped, full-service hospital. What you will be doing:
  • Conducting routine wellness exams for small-animal patients (dogs and cats)
  • Administering and recommending appropriate vaccines and preventive care
  • Reviewing patient history and updating medical records
  • Client education on nutrition, parasite prevention, and general wellness
  • Collaborating with a supportive, experienced support staff
What you must have:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an AVMA-accredited institution
  • Active, unrestricted veterinary license in Indiana (or ability to obtain)
  • Comfortable working independently in a high-volume wellness setting
  • Strong communication skills and a client-friendly chairside manner
  • Relief or multi-practice experience preferred but not required
  • DEA registration a plus
