Headquartered in Melville, New York, we serve as the prime engineering and construction partner for complex projects from concept through commissioning. We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our executive team and drive continued growth throughout Florida and the Southeastern United States.

Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Florida Business Development Manager to lead business development, sales, and marketing initiatives throughout Florida and the Southeast while supporting national growth opportunities as needed.

This corporate-level position reports directly to the executive team and offers significant opportunities for professional growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategic relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and expanding our presence within the solid waste, recycling, and sustainability industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties in accordance with company safety, business ethics, and quality assurance standards throughout project development, construction, and operations.
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans aligned with company objectives for the Florida and Southeast markets.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities through networking, targeted outreach, conferences, and industry events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with municipalities, private-sector clients, strategic partners, and industry leaders.
  • Lead and support proposal development by collaborating with technical and marketing teams to create compelling client-focused solutions.
  • Support contract negotiations while maintaining company standards and fostering long-term client partnerships.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities and assist project teams in transitioning new clients into successful project execution.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities within the waste management and recycling industries.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry association events throughout the region.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business development or sales, preferably in engineering, construction, environmental consulting, infrastructure, or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated success developing strategic growth plans and winning new business.
  • Strong negotiation, proposal development, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex solutions clearly and persuasively.
  • Knowledge of marketing principles and experience supporting sales growth initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Familiarity with the key participants and organizational structure of Florida's solid waste industry is preferred.
  • Experience with professional services proposals, cost estimating, commercial contracts, and client relationship management.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout Florida and the Southeast for client meetings, conferences, and industry events.
