Your Opportunity
The position of BIM Coordinator offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of digital design innovation, helping shape how Stantec delivers integrated building design through advanced BIM and data-driven workflows. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and designers, you will ensure high-quality, coordinated BIM deliverables that meet project standards, codes, and client requirements. The role requires strong technical expertise in Revit MEP and other BIM software, as well as the leadership ability to mentor and guide BIM staff in best practices and workflow optimization.
You will create and organize standard document content, and support the preparation of projects, plans, drawings, details, and specifications in accordance with Stantec standards, client standards, specifications, and building codes.
Your Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with engineering and architectural disciplines to ensure accurate and clash-free model integration.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain Revit models, templates, and content libraries
  • Create, develop and maintain project design models and drawings using latest BIM/Revit/CAD techniques in accordance with established standards and design principals.
  • Identify discrepancies in models, drawings and information and resolve through appropriate methods and channels.
  • Conduct model audits, quality checks, and compliance reviews to ensure accuracy and adherence to Stantec BIM standards.
  • Collaborate with other discipline BIM managers for rollout of corporate BIM Standards and for aligning of BIM delivery goals
  • Mentor and train electrical engineers, designers, and technologists in Revit and BIM best practices.
  • Participate in design coordination and BIM coordination meetings with internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement workflow automation and efficiency improvements using tools such as Dynamo or Python scripting.
  • Assist project managers in digital design delivery, project scheduling, and coordination of BIM resources.
  • Support the development and documentation of new BIM standards, protocols, and quality control procedures.
  • Stay current with emerging BIM technologies and trends to support continuous improvement in digital project delivery.
  • Develop and coordinate other digital delivery tools and templates (e.g. Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Matterport, Copilot, etc) as required
  • Acts as liaison for BIM related subject matter both internally and externally.
  • Influences, implements, and supports interdisciplinary standards and process improvements related to digital project delivery.
  • Work with Consultant and Subconsultants to assure that they have implemented the most current BIM/CAD standards.
  • Maintain software template files to assure standards.
  • Enforce company drafting and modeling standards and procedures. Review the input received from client and understand the scope of work and then plan work accordingly as per agreed scope and requirements.
  • Prepare 3D models and detailed drawings in Revit of proposed plans, facilities, and infrastructure in Revit/AutoCAD with minimal supervision.
  • Participation during the construction phase to maintain adherence to the design intent, quality standards, and contract documents including reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to requests for information, preparing observation reports, and completing other tasks associated with the construction phase.

Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Comprehensive understanding of BIM processes and standards
  • Exceptional attention to detail, specifically in accuracy of calculations and completeness of data OR Highly organized, have significant attention to detail, are able to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP, Navisworks Manage, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC/BIM 360).
  • Familiarity with visual programming (Dynamo), scripting, or automation workflows is an asset
  • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary BIM models and resolve technical and spatial conflicts effectively.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and train others in BIM processes.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly along with excellent interpersonal and a willingness to work in a team atmosphere
  • Experience in large-scale industrial or military projects preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and additional BIM-related tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Enscape, Twinmotion) is beneficial.
  • Candidate must be open to a security clearance check.

Education and Experience
Degree or equivalent engineering technology diploma + experience,
Minimum 5 years of experience in BIM coordination or management roles
Experience working in a consulting, design-build, or integrated project delivery (IPD) environment preferred.
Certification as Autodesk Certified Professional (ACP) or equivalent BIM accreditation is an asset.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

About the Team
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
