Description:

The Business Development Manager will drive revenue growth by identifying, engaging, and closing new advertising contracts for out-of-home (OOH) advertising solutions. This role builds relationships with local and regional businesses and helps them reach their target audiences through strategic campaigns.

This position is responsible for prospecting new clients, presenting advertising solutions, managing the sales cycle and exceeding sales goals. It also mentors and manages direct reports. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, results-driven, and possesses strong communication and negotiation skills, with a passion for helping businesses grow through outdoor advertising.


Essential Job Functions and Tasks

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

  • Identify and pursue new customers within the market through proactive outreach, including cold calling, email campaigns, networking, and in-person meetings.
  • Qualify prospects, manage a sales pipeline, and follow up on all leads to ensure consistent deal flow and strong conversion rates.
  • Develop a deep understanding of client marketing goals to propose customized billboard and OOH advertising solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and RFP responses that align with client needs.
  • Negotiate pricing and contract terms within company guidelines; finalize agreements by arranging payments and ensuring all documentation is complete.
  • Manage existing accounts by renewing expiring contracts, upselling additional placements or services, and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers to coordinate billboard artwork; ensure designs meet client expectations and are printed and posted accurately and on time.
  • Work closely with the operations team to ensure billboard locations are well-maintained and in optimal condition.
  • Monitor campaign performance and support clients throughout the advertising cycle, providing excellent customer service from sale to execution.
  • Assist with collections by contacting clients for outstanding payments and initiating legal collection processes when necessary.
  • Stay up to date on market trends, competitive offerings, and industry best practices to better position the company in sales efforts.
  • Participate in market and quarterly meetings, and complete a board ride each quarter to stay informed on inventory condition and placement.
  • Mentor and manage the Business Development Representative.
  • Manage, and approve timesheet for Business Development Associate
  • Perform similar or related duties as required or assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) is required.
  • Two years of experience in media sales, or other sales related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Intermediate knowledge and skill of:

  • Microsoft Windows environment
  • Internet browsers
  • Outlook
  • Microsoft Excel

  • Willingness to travel long distances via automobile.
  • Understanding of basic media planning terminology and concepts is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Out of Home Dictionary or willingness to learn is a plus.
