Job description

Job Title : Azure Infrastructure Engineer
Location : Rockville, MD
Duration: 12 Months
Bill Rate: $83/hr. on W2
Job type: W2-Contract
Work Authorization: US-Citizen, H-1B, OPT-EAD, GC-EAD

Job Description:
Lead and execute end-to-end cloud migration projects (Lift-and-Shift, Re-Platforming, etc.).
Collaborate with application owners, network engineers, and security teams to architect cloud-based solutions.
Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
Evaluate existing on-premises infrastructure and define cloud readiness plans.
Perform assessments of workloads for Azure migration, using tools like Azure Migrate, ASR, and Azure Site Recovery (ASR)
Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and cost management best practices.
Automate operational tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Python.
Monitor and maintain Azure environments, identify bottlenecks, and optimize performance.
Participate in DR/BCP planning and implementation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering with at least 5+ years on Azure.
Strong knowledge of Azure compute, storage, networking, and security features.
Hands-on experience with cloud migration tools such as Azure Migrate, ASR, or third-party
Expertise in virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
Proficient with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Azure CLI).
Understanding of hybrid cloud environments and VPN/ExpressRoute integration.
Familiarity with DevOps pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) for infrastructure provisioning.
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or higher preferred.
