Job description

Targeted Legal is partnering with a top Am Law 100 firm with more than 1,000 attorneys across 17 offices nationwide to support their Denver‐based Labor & Employment group. The team is seeking a Contract Senior Colorado Employment Law Attorney who can immediately step in at a high level and provide sophisticated, state‐specific expertise.


This group handles complex, high‐stakes employment matters for major national and regional clients. They need someone who can operate independently, manage fast‐moving assignments, and deliver exceptional written and client‐facing work.


Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Colorado employment law work, including wage & hour matters, FMLA/ADA, restrictive covenants, counseling, and litigation support.
  • Seamlessly pick up ongoing matters, triage urgent assignments, and produce high‐quality written work.
  • Serve as the go‐to Colorado Employment Law expert.
  • Client‐facing interactions for the right candidate; ability to represent the firm with confidence and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with attorneys across offices, including reporting to the Head of Labor & Employment.
  • Operate effectively independently.
  • Provide timely, sensitive support to ensure continuity of client service.


Qualifications

  • Licensed in Colorado with deep, hands‐on expertise in Colorado employment law.
  • 10+ years of Labor & Employment experience, including wage & hour, counseling, and litigation.
  • Strong background in sophisticated FMLA/ADA matters and complex employment disputes.
  • Excellent legal writing skills and ability to manage multiple fast‐moving assignments.
  • Prior client‐facing experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with partners across offices.


Schedule & Structure

  • 20–40 hours per week, based on candidate availability.
  • Hybrid preferred (2–3 days/week in the Denver office), but remote is fully acceptable for the right Colorado expert.
  • Contract with potential for continuation or permanent placement.
  • Flexible workload; the firm is open to adapting to the right talent.
