MUST BE CURRENTLY WORKING AT A BANK OR HEDGE FUND (NO EXCEPTIONS)
Role Focus
· This is an individual contributor role, not managerial.
· Candidates must be actively hands-on with coding—especially front-end using Angular, but also strong on web analytics and back-end analytics.
· Cannot have delegated programming; candidates must have personally built and delivered solutions.
· Must be able to deliver required functionality within tight timelines.
Team & Work Environment
· Small, lean, flat front office technology team sitting with the trading desk.
· Expect to work on 2–3 in-house applications and 4–5 ongoing initiatives in parallel.
· The team backs each other up; you’re never responsible for just one application.
· Exposure to business users and traders is frequent and essential.
· Production-ready, minimal hand-holding, and high independence.
Technical & Domain Requirements
· Microsoft stack: .NET, C#, SQL Server, Azure, Power BI.
· Angular front-end development is a must.
· Experience with web analytics and building UI for business users.
· Must be able to code both UI and back-end analytics.
· Excel analytics experience.
· Familiarity with financial applications, trade capture, cash flow analysis.
· Exposure to credit products (RMBS, CMBS, ABS, MBS, whole loans, consumer/mortgage loans).
· Experience with loan-level reporting systems is highly relevant.
· Knowledge of Bloomberg, Intex, CoreLogic, or similar platforms a plus.
Education & Career Background
· Bachelors in Computer Science is preferred.
· Additional certifications in finance (CFA, MBA, FRM, risk courses) are valued.
· Candidates from private equity, hedge funds, smaller hands-on financial firms preferred; large bank experience is fine if they’re used to full-lifecycle development.
· Mixture of technical and finance backgrounds is valued.
· Mid to senior-level experience (7–12 years), but open to high achievers with at least 5 years.
Ideal Candidate Attributes
· Hands-on full stack developer, strong technical skills.
· Domain expertise in credit is a plus, but willingness and ability to learn is critical.
· Not looking for someone transitioning to a credit analyst role.
· Stable career history or evidence of vertical growth.
· Consultants/contractors with strong hands-on experience are welcome.
· Good technologists and strong programmers; ability to connect the dots and perform mental math.
