Job Description

Position: Actuarial Analyst 

Duration: Full-time with benefits  

Location: 1700 Broadway, New York City, NY 

Direct Client: Immediate Interview 


There may be some light travel to Kansas as needed (maybe 10% travel), to one of their clients (travel compensated for)


This Actuarial role will be supporting a software company developing a state-of-the-art Insurance Platform serving Annuity and Life products. The individual will act as a Subject Matter Advisor and work closely with Software Product Development team and the counterparts at the client insurance company to define, specify, test, validate and implement key system functionality.  

The individual will support initiatives related to developing, pricing and filing fixed, indexed and variable annuity and life products.  

This work includes product design, pricing, actuarial memo preparation, contract / filing review and marketing material review.

Primary responsibilities will include building and enhancing complex financial models that employ both deterministic and stochastic analysis.

This position will support various software product development efforts, including requirement gathering and analysis, product design, technical analysis and financial modeling.


Required Skills: 

Coordinating and supporting the execution of product rate setting and management, as well as large case pricing.

Formulating and executing methodology improvements including setting investment and mortality assumptions.

Working closely with annuity product management on rate setting and product development initiatives.


Qualifications


Minimum of 5 years of Actuarial experience. Prefers ASA or FSA

Experience with pricing, modeling and product development of annuities or life insurance

Experience with actuarial software

Strong interpersonal and project/people management skills

Strong decision-making skills; ability to consider multiple perspectives in making business decisions

Must be innovative, with the ability to think outside the box

Strong technical and analytical abilities

Strong communication skills, ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audience
