Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Tax Manager with construction industry experience to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for an experienced manager or senior manager-level CPA who enjoys complex tax planning, direct client advisory work, team leadership, and long-term growth within public accounting.

This position offers significant client interaction, leadership visibility, and a long-term opportunity for Principal/Partner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review complex federal and multi-state tax returns for partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, LLCs, high-net-worth individuals, construction contractors, and real estate entities
  • Lead tax planning and consulting engagements
  • Advise clients on long-term contract accounting, completed contract and percentage-of-completion methods, revenue recognition, bonus depreciation, cost segregation, and entity structuring
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to construction business owners and executive teams
  • Research and resolve complex federal and state tax issues
  • Manage client relationships and yearโ€‘round planning discussions
  • Mentor, supervise, and develop tax staff, seniors, and managers
  • Review workpapers and returns for technical accuracy, quality, and efficiency
  • Assist with IRS and state tax notices and examinations
  • Support firm growth, client service improvements, and internal process development
Required Qualifications
  • Active CPA license required
  • 7+ years of public accounting tax experience
  • Strong construction industry tax experience
  • Experience reviewing complex business tax returns
  • Strong knowledge of passโ€‘through entities, multiโ€‘state taxation, construction taxation, and longโ€‘term contract accounting
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship skills
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with UltraTax, Thomson Reuters products, QuickBooks, and construction accounting systems
  • Experience managing client relationships and mentoring tax professionals
