Position Summary:
As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a Accounting & Data Specialist to support our accounting and financial reporting functions. This role is essential to maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in our financial operations, especially as we handle large volumes of transactional data. The ideal candidate will bring strong private-industry accounting experience and a proven command of full-cycle accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation across multiple entities. Experience in real estate lending, credit facilities, and private equity is highly desirable.
Job Duties:
• Prepare and post accurate journal entries across multiple entities and loan portfolios
• Perform monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including intercompany eliminations
• Assist in the preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements
• Coordinate and support the annual financial statement audit process
• Analyze and reconcile loan-level transactions, origination fees, interest income, and servicing costs
• Work closely with the Accounting Manager and SVP Accounting & Treasury to improve and document accounting processes
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on data validation and process efficiencies
• Assist with ad hoc reporting and analysis, including but not limited to investor and management reports
• Support credit facility reporting, covenant compliance monitoring, and cash flow scenario analysis
• Train and mentor junior accounting staff on systems, processes, and data tools
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience in private industry; financial services, lending, or real estate experience a strong plus
• Strong experience with large, complex data sets and reconciliations
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• High proficiency in Excel
• Detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment; comfortable navigating multiple accounting systems and large data sets
• Experience with NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar ERP is a plus
• CPA or CPA-track
• Prior exposure to real estate finance, lending, or investment accounting highly desirable
• SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization/analytics tools and system conversions a plus!
Work Environment:
This is a hybrid position which requires in-office reporting to Anchor's Thousand Oaks office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Remote work is optional Monday and Friday.
Compensation:
The base pay range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000 per year, plus annual discretionary bonus based on performance of the individual and company.
