  • Produce high-quality animations under tight deadlines
  • Create templates, toolkits, and reusable animation systems for recurring franchises and multi-platform distribution
  • Design and build MOGRTs to enable scalable graphics workflows for editors and producers
  • Maintain CNN's visual standards and brand consistency
  • Contribute to the visual style development of new shows, series and editorial initiatives

Qualifications & Experience...

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator and Photoshop. 3D animation experience a plus.
  • Strong expertise in After Effects expressions, scripting and templating assets as MOGRT files
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex ideas clearly through motion and design
  • Experience working in fast-paced editorial or production environments
  • Strong design fundamentals (typography, color, composition)
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Experience with data visualization and infographic animation
  • Familiarity with mapping principles and tools such as GEOlayers, Mapbox and Google Earth Studio
  • Experience creating and optimizing graphics for social video, streaming platforms and video podcasts
  • Must be willing to work early mornings, late nights and weekends as needed for news coverage and deadlines
