PDS Tech Commercial is hiring a Continuous Improvement Engineer for a leading manufacturing operation in Brooklyn Park, MN. This temp-to-hire opportunity is perfect for an engineer who enjoys leading Lean initiatives, solving production challenges, and driving operational excellence.
Position: Continuous Improvement Engineer
Location: Brooklyn Park, MN
Pay Rate: $ 45.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
What You'll Do
As a Continuous Improvement Engineer, you'll identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, reduce waste, increase efficiency, and support a culture of continuous improvement. Working closely with production teams and leadership, you'll lead projects that improve quality, productivity, and overall operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives across the production operation
  • Identify process improvement opportunities that increase efficiency, quality, and productivity
  • Coordinate and manage continuous improvement projects from planning through implementation
  • Build and maintain a prioritized roadmap of improvement initiatives
  • Partner with operators, supervisors, and leadership to gather ideas and implement process improvements
  • Utilize Lean, Kaizen, and other problem-solving methodologies to eliminate waste and improve workflow
  • Develop and deliver Lean training materials while promoting continuous improvement best practices
  • Track project performance using KPIs and other performance metrics
  • Conduct audits and ensure improvements are sustained through updated procedures and employee training
  • Document project results and provide recommendations for future operational improvements
  • Benchmark best practices and introduce new improvement ideas across the facility
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or another technical discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience in a Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, or Industrial Engineering role
  • Experience leading Lean Manufacturing and process improvement initiatives
  • Strong understanding of Lean methodologies, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, and other continuous improvement tools
  • Experience managing multiple improvement projects simultaneously
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement certification
  • Experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, biologics, or highly regulated manufacturing industries
  • Experience conducting audits and writing technical reports
  • Familiarity with CAD software
  • Experience developing SOPs, work instructions, and training documentation
  • Knowledge of manufacturing KPIs and performance measurement systems
