Job description

Lead Terminal Operator (Cement)

We are looking for a Lead Terminal Operator to join our team in Memphis, TN. This position oversees daily terminal operations, leads terminal operators, supports preventative maintenance, and assists the Terminal Manager with overall terminal performance.

About the Role

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, mentor, and schedule Operators Levels I, II, and III.
  • Oversee the safe and efficient loading, unloading, and operation of terminal equipment.
  • Perform and lead preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on terminal equipment.
  • Monitor equipment readings and assist with PLC-related decisions and operational issues.
  • Process bills of lading, verify paperwork, manage inventory, and coordinate with vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and environmental standards.
  • Maintain clean and organized terminal areas and support the 5S program.
  • Assist with training, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and Capital projects.
  • Serve as the local site contact and assist with Terminal Manager responsibilities when needed.
  • Support other Continental Cement locations and perform additional duties as assigned.

About You

We Require:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5–7 years of operations and/or maintenance experience with supervisory experience, including 3–5 years of preventative maintenance experience.
  • Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance skills.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment and follow OSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and preferably Maximo or a similar maintenance system.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to supervise, train, and mentor employees while managing daily operations and maintenance priorities.
  • Ability to lift 75–100 pounds regularly, work at heights up to 200 feet, and work in extreme temperatures, enclosed areas, and noisy or dusty environments.
  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including overtime and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10–20%.
