THE ROLE
As the Associate, Donor Engagement, you will be part of a small but mighty marketing team working to connect donors with causes they care about. Day to day, help design and run fundraising campaigns across email, phone, social, and digital channels - writing content that tells real stories and makes donors feel genuinely appreciated. You'll supervise a team of student marketers, keep an eye on campaign performance, and help figure out what's working so we can keep getting better. You'll report to the Engagement Center Manager and work alongside colleagues across the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan and run digital fundraising campaigns through email, social, phone, and web - with the goal of reaching more donors and growing giving. Produce and coordinate content deliverables (articles, scripts, graphics, and video edits) through a student marketing team.
  • Supervise your student marketing team as they produce articles, scripts, graphics, and short-form video content. Analyze and audit the web experience to enhance the constituent journey and optimize fundraising revenue through assessing site designs, click paths, buy-flow and more.
  • Track campaign performance - open rates, click-throughs, video views, web traffic, and more - and share what you're learning with the team.
  • Write and shape messaging for different donor audiences, making sure everything we publish is consistent, on-brand, and easy to find online.
  • Help Student Engagement Specialists set up and maintain outreach sequences in VanillaSoft - including managing audience segments, updating call scripts and templates, and keeping result codes current.
  • Manage the content review and approval process, including sending test drafts and coordinating feedback before launch.
  • Keep Student Engagement Specialists equipped with what they need - fund talking points, donor impact stories, and up-to-date campaign stats.
  • Support the Engagement Center Manager with day-to-day operations as needed.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in digital marketing roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications or a related field.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Demonstrated breadth of digital marketing knowledge with a strategic view on how impact-related content can influence connection to philanthropy.
  • Must illustrate strong interpersonal skills to gain consensus for planned content, negotiate tight deadlines and unite teams with a single vision and voice.
  • Must have excellent written communication skills, exceptional proofreading and editing skills, and a high level of understanding of marketing and storytelling.
  • Must have strong digital marketing experience including the use of email and web hosting platforms and tools like Google Analytics.
  • Proven experience and creativity with video scripting, creation and editing is a significant plus.
  • This talented, creative, and driven marketer can easily manage multiple initiatives at once.
  • Strong background in creative and innovating thinking and execution, with demonstrated capability for storytelling, creative content creation, and persuasive messaging.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience in marketing software like (Google Analytics, Google Adwords etc.)
  • Excellent time and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate a high level of ownership and ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Fast learner with creative problem-solving skills.
  • General understanding of higher education fundraising.
