Job description

What Impact You'll Have
The scope of work aligns to NGA efforts to effectively and efficiently disseminate Mapping, Charting and Geodesy content to NGA's forward architecture. The role shall support the office in disseminating and managing content in support of operational requirements, enhancing accessibility through service-enabling and content publication, developing and improving sustainable dissemination workflows, and integrating the use of innovative tools and technologies into requirements, production, and dissemination pathways.
What You'll be Owning
  • Develop and implement automation strategies to streamline seamless data handling, data integrity, and distribution processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Develop and apply methods to identify, collect, process, and analyze large volumes of data to build and enhance GEOINT processes, and systems.
  • Design and deploy custom automation tools to facilitate streamlined workflows, rapid and secure data transfer, minimizing manual intervention and reducing turnaround times.
  • Apply AI/ML techniques to enhance geospatial analysis capabilities and improve accuracy in data extraction from various sources.
  • Develop API-based integration solutions to improve data exchange between NGA and partner systems.
  • Maintain Legacy Python codebase, integrate codebase new security requirements and future Source dissemination solutions.
  • Collaborate with GEOINT content teams to integrate automated quality checks, ensuring the highest standards of data integrity and reliability.

What You Must Have
  • US Citizen with a TS/SCI clearance and the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph
  • 5 years of combined experience in the field with a college coursework in a relevant field of study.
  • Proficiency with the following: ArcGIS Suite (ArcPro, ArcGIS Online, etc.), Python (i.e. numpy, pandas, matplotlib libraries), PostgreSQL, Oracle, Application programming interfaces (APIs)
  • Proficiency with database principles and technology
  • Experience with enterprise geodatabase management and geodatabase versioning workflows
  • Ability to use and contribute code to repositories, i.e., local, remote, and shared (e.g., Github or Gitlab)
  • Experience working with cloud-based database solutions
  • Professional writing abilities with familiarity in using AI tools to enhance deliverables
  • Experience working effectively with a team of geographically dispersed personnel under varied time constraints, demonstrating strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability skills
  • Experience applying critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity towards achieving enterprise-level solutions

What Would be Nice to Have
  • 5 years of combined experience in the field with a college coursework in a relevant field of study.
  • Proficiency in ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load)
  • Demonstrated experience with JavaScript
