Position: Content Developer II – Video Production

Location: Birmingham, AL

Alabama Power is seeking an experienced Content Developer II to create tutorial, promotional, and demonstration videos for software tools and applications. This role will also develop technical documentation, user guides, manuals, online help content, and knowledge-base materials.

The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience using Camtasia to produce software-focused training and demonstration videos and be able to translate complex technical information into clear, engaging content for nontechnical users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Script, record, edit, and produce software tutorial, promotional, and demonstration videos.
  • Create screen recordings, voiceovers, annotations, graphics, and other visual elements using Camtasia.
  • Develop technical documentation, user manuals, product guides, job aids, and online help content.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly language.
  • Review and improve existing videos and documentation for clarity, consistency, accuracy, and usability.
  • Apply user-centered design and instructional-content principles.
  • Develop content for videos, printed materials, SharePoint, knowledge bases, and online platforms.
  • Coordinate with graphic designers and illustrators to incorporate branded visuals and diagrams.
  • Edit, proofread, and perform quality-control reviews.
