Job description

Social Media Content Creator Intern

Position Summary

The Social Media Content Creator Intern will support 99 Ranch Market's social media team by researching trends and helping create engaging content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and other digital platforms. This internship offers hands-on experience in social media strategy, filming, editing, content planning, trend research, and brand marketing. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, familiar with current social media platforms and trends, and interested in building a professional social media portfolio.


Responsibilities

  • Research social media trends, memes, sounds, creators, and competitor content
  • Assist with content ideas based on products, campaigns, seasonal moments, and the Asian food traditions and cultural moments relevant to our customers
  • Help create short-form videos, branded memes, graphics, carousels, and captions
  • Support product sourcing, filming, editing, and content preparation
  • Visit store locations, typically at least once per week, for filming and product research.
  • Drive to store, vendor, and filming locations, primarily within Southern California, using a personal vehicle, and transport product and filming equipment to and from those locations. Mileage and related expenses are reimbursed in accordance with Company policy.
  • Support recurring series, product features, educational content, and corporate branding
  • Help maintain the content calendar, filming schedule, and footage library
  • Review basic performance data to improve future content
  • Follow brand guidelines and maintain cultural and product accuracy
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to use a personal vehicle for business-related travel to store and filming locations. This position requires travel to multiple store and filming locations on short notice, transporting product and filming equipment, on a schedule for which public or alternative transportation would not provide comparable travel time or cost.
  • Must be available to work up to 28 hours per week.
  • Current coursework or a completed degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Film, Business, or a related field is preferred
  • Familiarity with TikTok, Instagram, short-form video formats, and current social media trends
  • Basic filming and video-editing experience
  • Familiarity with CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools is preferred
  • Creative, organized, responsive, and open to feedback
  • Comfortable filming in stores and appearing on camera when needed. On-camera appearances are subject to a signed likeness and media release
  • Familiarity with Asian grocery products, cuisines, and consumer trends is a plus
  • Portfolio or publicly available examples of social media content are preferred. Applicants will not be asked to provide usernames, passwords, or access to personal social media accounts.
  • Authorized to work in the United States for this position. The Company does not sponsor employment visas for this role.


Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • May require extended standing or walking while filming
  • Must be able to carry products and basic filming equipment
  • May occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
  • Must be able to travel between the office, stores, and filming locations

Position Details

  • Employment Type: Internship (non-exempt, hourly, at-will)
  • Internship Duration: Ongoing, based on business needs and internship performance. The intern may be considered for future full-time employment opportunities based on performance, organizational needs, and position availability. Employment is at-will and may be ended at any time by the intern or the Company, with or without cause and with or without notice.   • Schedule: Up to 28 hours per week. A fixed schedule is preferred, with flexibility based on business needs and the intern's school schedule.
  • Pay Rate: $16.90-$18.00 per hour

  • Compensation:

    The pay range for this job is between $16.90 and $18.00 per hour. This is the pay scale the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position. The rate offered within this range is determined by factors including (but not limited to) the responsibilities of the job, your education, skills, qualifications, and experience.
