Job Description


The Brand & Communications Assistant assists with communication initiatives including external branding, digital marketing, and internal communications projects. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to, editing/drafting content for internal and external communications, assisting in the management of social media platforms, assisting in the coordination of marketing campaigns, and providing general administrative support to the marketing team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
  • Assist in writing and editing written, video, and audio content for various communication channels, including emails, newsletters, website, and social media platforms.

  • Assist with the implementation of communication strategies as assigned.

  • Manage and update the firm's social media accounts, including posting timely and engaging content.

  • Assist in the creation and distribution of client alerts, blogs, newsletters, and other external communication materials.

  • Support marketing campaigns by helping coordinate deliverables, maintain content calendars, and track campaign performance.

  • Respond to general communication-related issues in a timely manner.

  • Provide general administrative support to the marketing team, such as managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and maintaining databases.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather information and ensure accurate and consistent messaging.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in communications and marketing.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communication, Journalism, or a related field is required.

  • Entry Level. Prior experience in marketing, communications, or a related field is preferred.

  • Experience with content creation, video, social media management, and marketing campaigns is a plus.

  • Strong writing, editing, and research skills; the ability to synthesize information and accurately capture it in a written narrative.

  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Understanding and awareness of social media outlets and how to leverage the technology.

  • Think conceptually and successfully execute with minimal direction.

  • Excellent organizational skills and motivation to work individually and as a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with social media platforms.

This is an hourly, non-exempt position that is eligible for a generous overtime plan that exceeds minimum legal requirements.

The anticipated good-faith base salary range for this position is:

  • Chicago: $60,000 to $72,000 per year.

In addition to a competitive base salary, certain positions are eligible for a comprehensive performance-based bonus, payable monthly or annually.
