Compensation for this role is 45000-50000 The role may also be eligible for bonus or commission pay. Actual compensation may vary due to factors such as experience and skill set.
As a Representative, Carrier Sales (Drayage) at RXO, you will source, negotiate, and secure drayage carriers to move freight in a timely and cost-effective manner, with a focus on port and rail operations, container visibility, and service execution.
What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with core drayage carriers, negotiating and securing capacity for port and rail moves
  • Manage container lifecycle from port/rail pickup through final delivery, ensuring timely and efficient execution
  • Maintain continuous communication with carriers, terminals, rails, and internal teams to ensure high-quality freight movement
  • Proactively monitor and communicate updates on delays, port congestion, rail availability, equipment issues, or other service impacts
  • Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments, considering key factors such as port cutoffs, free time, demurrage, detention, traffic, and terminal conditions
  • Ensure compliance with drayage-specific requirements including chassis usage, container return timelines, and accessorial management (detention, demurrage, storage)
  • Follow established procedures for high-value shipments (HVS) and high-risk cargo (HRC) to protect shipment integrity and uphold the RXO brand
  • Accurately maintain and update load and container details within RXO systems, ensuring visibility and data accuracy
  • Research and develop new drayage carrier partnerships, including cold outreach and onboarding
  • Track and validate carrier billing, including accessorial charges, to ensure accuracy and alignment with agreed terms

At a minimum, you'll need:
  • 1 year of procurement experience

It'd be great if you also have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 1+ year of transportation experience, preferably in drayage or intermodal
  • 2+ years of sales or customer service experience
  • Familiarity with port and rail operations, including container tracking, chassis management, and accessorials
  • The ability to exercise judgment and discretion while functioning independently within authorized limits
