Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Container / Chassis / Tire Maintenance  - Welds, flame straightens and fabricates steel, stainless steel, aluminum(T-Floor), frame squaring. - Install foaming in refrigerated container one wall panel. - Operates shop equipment: shears, brakes, etc. - Replaces and/or repairs wooden floors. - Repairs mechanical components. - Repair/replace dry container corner post, header, rail, roof, cross member and tunnel sections. - Brake repair and replacement (S-Cam Air Brakes). - Rebuilds and/or repairs axles and suspensions. - Advanced frame straightening and fabrications. Repairs and/or replaces air valves and brake chambers. - Repairs and/or replaces lights. Inspects and repairs of the DOT ABS System. - Performs Commercial Tire Service (CTS) 300 level  

Education (Minimum)

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience (custom)

All Areas: - Must have 2 years experience - Must be able to operate and certify on 5K and 30K lb. forklifts and Jockey Trucks - ?Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport Container Maintenance - ?Must be able to pass an ABS welding test. - ?Must have experience using fabrication equipment: ironworks, brake presses and hydraulic sheet metal shears Chassis Maintenance - ?Working with S-cam Air Brakes preferred.

License

All Areas: - Valid local driver's license - ?Must be able to operate and certify on 5K & 30K forklifts - ?Ability to obtain a U.S. Passport  Container/Chassis Maintenance - ?Must have or achieve Certificate of Training for ABS brake systems, Certificate of S-Cam foundation brakes, and OSHA commercial tire training and Commercial Tire Service (CTS) 300 level. - ?Must meet one of the DOT conditions that qualifies as a brake inspector. - Must have or achieve OSHA jockey truck certification.

Travel

10% local travel to domestic Tropical locations.

Physical

Operations - Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer or handheld. Ability to frequently twist, bend, reach, squat, kneel, climb on equipment, push/pull 50 pounds, crawl, lift and carry at least 80 pounds Ability to travel in various modes of transportation such as automobile, airplane or train. Occasionally exposed to outside elements during traveling and daily workday.
