About the role
The hours for this position are Monday-Thursday 3pm - 1am.
At Reworld™, we're leading the way in sustainable waste management and resource recovery. Our team plays an important role in turning waste into valuable resources while maintaining a safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible operation.
We are looking for a Lead Equipment Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient movement, unloading, and shipment of rail containers while maintaining equipment, completing required documentation, and helping keep the facility clean and safe.
What You'll Do
  • Conduct daily tailgate safety meetings and participate in monthly safety meetings.
  • Coordinate daily operational activities to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
  • Complete daily operations logs and review RFID records to ensure containers are unloaded within applicable permit time requirements.
  • Perform daily equipment pre-operational inspections and promptly communicate any safety or equipment concerns.
  • Operate a Rail Car Mover to safely align rail cars for unloading and prepare rail cars for shipment.
  • Operate a Reach Stacker to remove containers from rail cars and safely position them onto tip chassis trailers.
  • Prepare manifests and other required documentation for outgoing rail cars.
  • Perform minor equipment maintenance, including greasing, fueling, topping off fluids, changing light bulbs, and other routine tasks.
  • Maintain equipment in a safe, clean, and operational condition, including power washing and cleaning equipment interiors.
  • Communicate safety, equipment, production, and operational issues to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Perform additional cleaning, painting, and facility maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, environmental requirements, and regulatory requirements.

What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment, tractors, trailers, or similar industrial equipment preferred.
  • Ability to safely drive and back a tractor-trailer combination.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to accurately enter and maintain electronic information.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with other operators and across shifts.
  • Willingness and ability to work alternating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Ability to wear a full-face respirator when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in elevated or overhead positions while using required fall protection and safety harnesses.
  • Commitment to working safely and following established procedures.

Pay Transparency

The range below reflects Reworld's reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.
The pay range for the primary location of this position is: 25.10 - 33.37 USD per hour
