Summary

The Vice President of Asset Management & Reliability serves as the executive leader responsible for developing and executing the Authority's enterprise asset management strategy to maximize safety, operational reliability, lifecycle value, and return on capital investment across all equipment and maintenance operations. This position provides strategic leadership for maintenance operations, reliability engineering, technical services, asset lifecycle planning, capital equipment strategy, maintenance technologies, workforce development, and continuous improvement initiatives supporting one of the nation's leading container ports.

The Vice President partners closely with Operations, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Information Technology, and Safety to ensure equipment availability, optimize total cost of ownership, modernize maintenance practices, and support the Authority's long‑term growth strategy. The successful candidate combines exceptional business acumen with deep industrial maintenance expertise and a proven ability to lead organizational transformation within complex, mission‑critical operating environments.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required; mechanical or electrical engineering degree preferred. Master’s degree preferred. CMRP, CRL or PE Certification is preferred.

Experience Requirements

The ideal candidate will have executive‑level leadership experience within a container port, marine terminal, railroad, airport, utility, manufacturing, mining, or other heavy industrial environment. Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience in maintenance, asset management, reliability, engineering, or industrial operations, including at least 8 years leading large, complex technical organizations. Must have significant experience managing operating and capital budgets and large, cross‑functional teams. Requires exceptional business acumen and experience with enterprise asset management, reliability‑centered maintenance, predictive maintenance, and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience leading automation, electrification, sustainability, and digital transformation initiatives is strongly preferred.
