We are searching for a talented software engineer to join our Modeling and Simulation (M&S) development team. We are looking for an experienced developer to work with a diverse team of software engineers, data scientists, and analysts to explore and develop solutions in support of AFRL, NASIC, DARPA and other Department of Defense and Intelligence Community projects. The candidate will be expected to develop and integrate high fidelity models and software solutions into existing AFSIM Modeling & Simulation framework, using modern Agile software development practices. The candidate will need to develop and expand wsf_python and other tools into AFSIM. We want to emphasize that we are looking for a full stack developer, in addition to being proficient in AFSIM. We are focused on finding innovative, self-starters who can adapt to a fast-paced, high-profile development effort. Required Skills
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance Required Experience
• Minimum of 3 years of M&S development experience
• Minimum of 3 years software development experience
• Minimum of 2 years C++ and Python3
• Experience following agile development processes
• Experience using tools such as git, Bitbucket, Gitlab, Jenkins, Gitlab runners or similar
• Experience developing software for Linux platforms Desired Qualifications
• Experience with a full technical stack, including backend framework development, network programming, CICD, scientific computing, regression test development, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.
• Experience working with modeling and simulation tools, such as AFSIM, NGTS, and ITASE
• Experience with virtual machine and container management platforms such as WSL2 and Docker
• Experience with integrated development environments such as Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, PyCharm, or similar
