Job description

Class A CDL Drivers Wanted

We are hiring experienced Class A CDL drivers for a local intermodal position based in the Bell Gardens / Los Angeles area.

This is a night-shift operation with a 5-day workweek and daily home time. Drivers move intermodal freight throughout the Inland Empire and greater Los Angeles area, with additional workdays available for drivers who want them.

The Basics

Schedule: 5-day work week Shift: Night Home Time: Daily Freight: Intermodal containers Average Pay: $1,400โ€“$1,800/week Pay Structure: $19.25/hour + $18.71/stop Equipment: Intermodal containers secured on chassis Driver Unload: No touch-assist loads

Local Operating Area

Drivers primarily operate throughout the Inland Empire and greater Los Angeles area, including rail ramps and customer locations in areas such as:

  • Bell Gardens
  • Long Beach
  • Los Angeles
  • Commerce
  • City of Industry
  • Bloomington

This is a slip-seat operation, with trucks based at the Bell Gardens yard.

What to Expect

The position includes a mixture of:

  • Live load and unload freight
  • Preloaded freight
  • Drop-and-hook moves
  • Local intermodal container transportation
  • Rail ramp and customer pickups/deliveries

Drivers receive a 10-hour break daily and return home after their shift.

Additional workdays may be available on an optional basis for drivers interested in working beyond their regular 5-day schedule.

Compensation

Drivers are paid:

  • $19.25 per hour
  • $18.71 per stop
  • Average weekly earnings of approximately $1,400โ€“$1,800

Actual earnings vary based on hours worked, stops, freight volume, schedule, and other applicable pay factors.

Driver Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Hold a valid Class A CDL
  • Have at least 6 months of recent, verifiable Class A tractor-trailer experience
  • Have a Hazmat endorsement
  • Live within approximately 25 miles of ZIP code 90201
  • Be comfortable operating intermodal containers secured on chassis
  • Be available for night-shift and weekend work
  • Meet applicable DOT qualification requirements
  • Be authorized to work in the United States
